Utopia | Reflective Statement

Writer's picture: Xiaotian PengXiaotian Peng

My initial concept of utopia differed from the eventual development when I looked at mobile apps and credit scoring as research points, the problem I found was that these issues were ultimately subjective to human assumptions. From this I attribute the problem to the fact that Everyone lives in someone else's rating, even payment software uses someone's daily behaviour to determine if that person is a 'potential I began to research and experiment further.

The most important aspect of the project is the visualisation of identity, which can be understood as the image of a person in my utopia, where I believe in genderlessness and non-identification, so that everyone is random. Randomness represents my attitude: you don't have to rate people and they don't rate you, let's find joy outside of reality in a utopia.

The problem that I haven't dealt with perfectly is that I didn't give a specific "trip to the West Island" in the final output, I removed some parts because they didn't fit the theme - a world without ratings. This needs to be researched in depth and others invited to experience it, which is something I will probably do later to improve it.
